France is experiencing an unprecedented budget crisis.
The deficit is at risk of exceeding 6% in 2024.
France now risks bankruptcy, which could drag the entire Eurozone into the abyss.

The French government is facing an alarming financial situation. The deficit may exceed 6% in 2024, which will force the government to plan a budget cut of 60 billion euros for 2025. Despite this drastic step, public spending will continue to increase by 2.1%.

This situation raises difficult questions about the management of public finances.

The Finance Committee of the National Assembly, chaired by Eric Cockrell, is considering becoming an investigative committee. The goal will be to understand how such an economic catastrophe occurred.

This approach emphasizes the magnitude of the crisis of confidence affecting the country's financial institutions.

GOVERNMENT UNDER PRESSURE

The ceremonial vote on the budget is scheduled for November 5. In this context, the Barnier government may be forced to resort to Article 49.3 of the Constitution. This decision may further weaken the executive authority, which is already in difficulties.

The credibility of the government is being undermined. The critics directly accuse Emmanuel Macron of being responsible for the debt. The president is said to have balked at certain cost-saving measures, particularly regarding retirees, for fear of election repercussions.

This situation highlights the tensions within the executive authority.
