Amid the worsening situation around Guyana, Ecuador is becoming a new alarming point on the map of South America.

From this Latin American country there are reports of a real war between government forces and mafia groups.

The reason for this was the escape last Monday from a maximum security prison of the famous Ecuadorian criminal, the leader of the Los Choneros mafia group, Jose Macias Villamar, and the subsequent declaration by President Daniel Noboa of a state of emergency in the country.

Following these events, prison riots swept across the country. And yesterday, riots engulfed Ecuador's largest city, Guayaquil, where armed criminals seized the local television office. Several journalists were taken hostage by criminals.

After this, the President of Ecuador announced an “internal armed conflict” in the country with a number of mafia and terrorist groups.

According to some reports, the number of armed militants varies from several hundred to several thousand people. On social networks, criminals circulated videos of the murder of prison guards, demanding direct negotiations with President Daniel Noboa.

It is reported that at least ten people have already become victims of the conflict in Ecuador.
