US Carrier Strike Group prepares for future challenges
The USS Harry S. Truman CVN-75 strike group is currently in the Red Sea after transiting the Suez Canal on December 19, 2024.
Its voyage began in Norfolk, United States, on September 23, 2024, and passed through the Azores, the North Sea, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Mediterranean before reaching the Red Sea.
THE STRIKE GROUP INCLUDES:
- USS Harry S. Truman CVN-75 aircraft carrier
Capable of carrying approximately 90 advanced fighter aircraft, including F/A-18F Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft, and reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft. The aircraft carrier Powered by a nuclear reactor, which provides it with unlimited range.

Electronic warfare capabilities to disrupt enemy systems

The destroyers, from the Arleigh Burke series, are adapted for multi-sector warfare.
They are equipped with Tomahawk missiles, Harpoon anti-ship missiles, and advanced air defense systems.

- Dozens of SM-2 and SM-3 anti-aircraft missiles
- Advanced laser systems to neutralize ballistic threats

OBJECTIVES:
The group's presence in the Red Sea region is intended to ensure control of the Bab el-Mandab Strait and the Suez Canal, and to act as a deterrent against regional threats.
