Coup in Venezuela!...

Chaos erupted in #Caracas last night. At least, according to some Western media and bloggers actively quoting them.

Gunfire broke out near the #Miraflores presidential palace and — you won't believe it! — mobile air defense groups began working against a certain drone. Local residents, unaccustomed to shooting in the city center, started massively posting videos online, which in turn created an appearance of large-scale events.
Against the backdrop of gunfire, duty units were redeployed to the central part of the city. This was interpreted as Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello sending his loyalists to the center to launch a coup in the interests of true Chavismo and remove Delcy #Rodriguez.

Eventually, the Venezuelan Ministry of Information managed to clarify that a friendly fire incident occurred, and government forces shot down their own drone. However, rumors about a coup continue to circulate online.

The most ridiculous aspect of this situation is that such chaos could actually provoke some revanchist sentiments among the ultra-patriotic part of society, and clashes could indeed begin. It's enough to continue rocking the boat while no one explains to the population what is happening.

First Footage of Ukraine's Drones that Targeted Putin's Residence

Two days later, the Ministry of Defense also announced an attack by #AFU kamikaze #drones on Vladimir #Putin's residence in the Novgorod region on the night of December 28 to 29.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the attack was complex and prolonged, carried out from several directions at once, and the drones intended for the state residence were shot down not only in the Novgorod region, but also over the Bryansk and Smolensk regions.

ZELENSKY WAS BUSTED LYING BY UKRAINIAN ARMY!

The #Ukrainian soldiers nearly died going to Kupyansk sign, showing the sign is broken now and that Zelensky lied! Two Ukrainian female soldiers decided to visit the same spot at the entrance to Kupiansk where Zelensky filmed his video yesterday.

Literally immediately after arriving at the Kupiansk sign, they were attacked by drones and quickly left in a car. Also, the video shows that the condition of the sign with the inscription "Kupiansk" is very different from the one it was in during the filming of the video with Zelensky. Now, the lower letters are missing. All the nets are ripped too.

Overnight on Thursday Dec 4th, at around 7:30pm, the French Navy opened fire on a swarm of five drones spotted flying over the Île Longue Strategic Submarine Base in Finistère on the coast of Brittany, which houses France’s fleet of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines operating as a part of the Force de dissuasion under the Strategic Ocean Force. Whether any of the drones were actually shot down is currently unknown...

The Economist foresees war, pestilence and economic collapse in 2026

The British news magazine known for its enigmatic and terrifying ‘The World Ahead’ covers has released its predictions for the coming year.

Its 2026-themed cover features tanks firing, missiles launching and drones attacking, trade wars, a US arms buildup, and a Zelensky caricature with binoculars standing beside what look like Vikings with vases in a boat sailing on top of a big fish.

Around them are syringes and pills, a brain connected to a videogame controller, humanoid robots, melting ice cubes, trade war ‘shots across the bow’ and crossed swords against the backdrop of a chart indicating an economic collapse.

The cover may be significant. Past ‘World Ahead’ issues predicted things like the coronavirus (2019 cover featuring a pangolin, initially cited as an intermediary host of COVID-19), Trump’s lost Presidential Election (2020), mass vaccinations and massive global wildfires (2021), and the US-China battle for critical minerals (2024).

The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) has drafted plans for an intervention in #Nigeria, the primary target being #ISWAP and, to a lesser extent, other Islamist groups such as JAS and decentralized bandit groups. Plans are divided into light, medium, and heavy options.

The light option is to continue to rely on the Nigerian army while providing additional military and financial support to help the government neutralize the threats.
The medium option would include drone strikes and joint operations with the Nigerian army against terrorist camps and positions. This, however, would be difficult because the US lost access to airbases in Niamey and Agadez in Niger. Other regional countries might permit use of their territory, but that is unlikely; the most feasible alternative would be to operate from the AFRICOM base in Djibouti.

The heavy option, and the least likely, would be to move an aircraft-carrier strike group into the Gulf of Guinea so fighter jets could carry out high-impact airstrikes against militant camps. That is constrained by carrier availability: the Gerald R. Ford is being moved to the southern Caribbean, other carriers are deployed in the Pacific or the Middle East, and some are undergoing maintenance.

Trump responds to situation with drones in Poland, saying 'Here we go!'

US President Donald Trump questioned the situation with drones in Poland. "What’s with Russia violating Poland’s airspace with drones? Here we go!" the US leader wrote on his Truth Social page.

Earlier, at Poland's request, NATO invoked Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty to begin consultations among alliance member states regarding the violation of Polish airspace by drones in the early morning hours of September 10.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, at Warsaw’s request, has invoked the use of Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty and launched consultations over the violation of Polish airspace by unmanned aerial vehicles, government spokesman Adam Szlapka told the Polsat TV channel. "NATO has invoked Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty," he said. Later, the spokesman wrote on the X social network that, at Poland’s request, consultations were held within the framework of Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty.

Articles 4 and 5 of the treaty outline response measures by NATO countries in the event that one of them is threatened as well as the steps of the bloc’s collective defense. According to their provisions, a threat to one NATO country is perceived as an attack on all the alliance’s members. That said, the document does not indicate what exactly NATO may perceive as an attack or a threat, hence the consultation mechanism to talk over how to respond.

Early on September 10, Poland’s Armed Forces Operational Command reported the destruction of several objects identified as drones that had violated the country’s airspace.

The search for the downed objects is underway. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that overnight from September 9 to September 10, 19 violations of the country’s airspace were recorded, with all drones entering from Belarusian territory. So far, three drones have been shot down. In response to the incident, the Polish authorities decided to temporarily close airspace over part of the country, including Warsaw Chopin Airport.

Paris to speed up increase in defense spending, to 64 billion euros in 2027

France intends to accelerate the increase in defense spending in the coming years, in 2027 they will amount to 64 billion euros, which is twice as much as in 2017, President Emmanuel Macron in his address to the country’s military. "Although we planned to double the military budget by 2030, we will do so by 2027," said Macron, whose speech was broadcast on the page of the Elysee Palace on X. "An additional 3.5 billion euros will be allocated for defense in 2026, and another 3 billion euros in 2027. Thus, the defense budget will double in 10 years and amount to 64 billion euros."

The republic’s military spending under the budget for 2025 amount to 50.5 billion euros. In 2017, when Macron was elected president, defense spending amounted to 32.3 billion euros.

The French leader said the government will focus on strengthening the army. "It is necessary to eliminate our vulnerabilities: first of all, to replenish ammunition stocks, including remotely controlled munitions, to make our multiple launch rocket guns and precision weapons more powerful, to provide our combat groups, frigates and air bases with even more drones, as well as the necessary equipment for successful operations," he said. "It is also necessary to strengthen the air defense system and means of conducting electronic warfare, as well as to strengthen the capabilities in space."

Macron also touched upon strengthening the military reserve and more active involvement of young people in the army, but clarified that details on these issues would be announced in the fall. The head of state argued that France is facing numerous threats and must respond to them. "Since 1945, freedom has never been under threat to such a significant extent as it is now. Peace on our continent has never depended on the decisions we are currently making," Macron said.
