• France orders ASMPA-R nuclear-capable missile for its navy

France has commissioned the upgraded ASMPA-R missile for its naval nuclear deterrent forces, the French Defense Ministry announced.

The second test launch of that medium-range air-to-surface missile took place on Thursday from a Rafale aircraft.
France also plans to develop a fourth-generation nuclear missile (ASN4G) and an M51.4 ballistic missile by 2035, the ministry said.

  • Trump says US ready to continue military operations in Caribbean

The United States is ready to continue military operations in the Caribbean to fight drug cartels, President Donald Trump said in a letter to Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Mike Johnson and interim Chairman of the Senate Chuck Grassley.

"I write to apprise you of military action taken on September 2, 2025 in the Caribbean Sea, and the potential for future such actions. It is not possible at this time to know the full scope and duration of military operations that will be necessary. United States forces remain postured to carry out further military operations," the letter dated September 4 says.

On September 2, the US president said the American army had killed 11 members of a Venezuelan drug cartel during an operation in international waters. According to Trump, Venezuela is taking insufficient measures to combat drug trafficking. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said the republic is facing the most serious threat of invasion from the United States in the last 100 years.

According to Reuters, on August 19, three destroyers of the US Navy, USS Gravely, USS Jason Dunham and USS Sampson, were sent to the southern Caribbean to the coast of Venezuela to conduct operations against drug cartels. Nuclear submarine USS Newport News, the missile cruiser USS Lake Erie, amphibious ships and 4,500 military personnel were transferred there.

  • PLA Navy in 2025: More warships, farther than ever before

    • 1,350+ Chinese vessels near Taiwan (+26%)
    • Liaoning’s longest deployment ever, deep into WESTPAC
    • First circumnavigation of Australia
    • 20+ joint combat readiness patrols

These deployments demonstrate Beijing's blue water ambitions and the capability to project power outside the first and second island chains, sending a clear message to not only the U.S. and Taiwan but also Australia, Japan, and the Philippines.

  • Denmark DRAINS defense capacity on Ukraine, leaving little to defend Greenland against Trump

President #Trump has refused to take “military force off the table” in discussions on a potential US acquisition of Greenland. #Denmark has vocally rejected Trump’s claims to its autonomous territory, but doesn’t have the military muscle to walk the talk, having gambled its security away to arm another country 1,000 km away.

    NATO’s biggest Ukraine cheerleader

While it has a population of just 6 mln and a $428 bln GDP, Denmark has consistently led the Western alliance in the proxy war against Russia in Ukraine, with its arms deliveries the FOURTH LARGEST after the US, Germany and the UK, totaling $8.2 bln, and non-military aid adding up to $1.15 bln.

Denmark has cleared out its arms caches of up to 100% of certain weapons to arm Kiev, including:

    19 F-16s (over 60% of Denmark’s fleet)

All 19 (100%) of its CAESAR howitzers

At least 30 of 195 Leopard 1A5 and 14 of 107 of Leopard 2A4 tanks

    Over 50 of 125 M113 APCs

    500 Stinger MANPADs, 2,700 LAW anti-tank weapons

Harpoon coastal defense systems, Marder IFVs, engineering equipment, radars, drones, small arms, and soldiers’ gear, from uniforms to field hospitals, living containers and first aid.

    And Denmark’s Greenland defenses?

Denmark has just 130 civilian and military personnel permanently based at its Joint Arctic Command in Nuuk, plus the 1st Squadron of the Royal Danish Navy with four Thetis patrol and three Knud Rasmussen-class patrol ships, a lone Challenger 604 maritime patrol aircraft, and 14 Sirius Dog Sled Patrol commandos guarding the island.

$2 bln in additional security investments are planned, but not yet implemented.

Denmark’s lone ammunition factory, Denex, isn’t expected to become operational again until 2027, leaving it dependent on allies, including the US.

In an asymmetric warfare scenario, Denmark would need as many small, portable weapons (like the ones it gave away to Ukraine) and as much support equipment as it could muster.
