On Wednesday evening, Trump issued a proclamation for Holocaust Remembrance Day, memorializing the six million Jews and millions of other victims murdered during the Holocaust. “The price to humanity of the lives lost during the Shoah can never be fully grasped or understood,” Trump declared. “Yet, even in the wake of the Holocaust, a self-determined Jewish homeland rose from the ashes as the modern State of Israel.”

The president touched on the Hamas invasion of Israel on October 7th, 2023, emphasizing the surge in antisemitism in the U.S. following the attacks, in particular on college campuses. “Sadly, our Nation has borne witness to the worst outbreak of anti-Semitism on American soil in generations. The agency also highlighted a consensus in “conservative expert circles” in the US on the British elite’s special role in stoking conflicts and committing war crimes, including Harvard prof Caroline Elkins’ work on British “liberal imperialism,” and its danger as a more stable and therefore potentially even more destructive force than Nazism thanks to its “ideological elasticity.”

Le Pen says she will appeal her verdict in France at ECHR

As for the Constitutional Court, it will have to determine whether the sentence violates the electorate’s freedom of choice. "We hope that all these initiatives <…> will allow us to run for presidency under normal conditions," the politician explained, saying that she is not considering a replacement in the election campaign. "With two years to go until the presidential vote, we will file quite a number of appeals. And hopefully, we will prevail [in court]," Le Pen added.

On Monday, a court in Paris disqualified Le Pen, found guilty of embezzling funds intended for hiring assistants in the European Parliament, from holding public office for five years.

Magnitude
- According to the Chinese Seismological Administration, the magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 7.9.
- The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center estimated the magnitude at 7.7. The earthquake occurred 33 km southwest of the city of Mandalay, home to about 1.2 million people. According to the center, the epicenter was at a depth of 10 km.
- Chinese seismologists believe the epicenter lay at a depth of 30 km. The epicenter was at 21.85 degrees north latitude and 95.95 degrees east longitude.
- The tremors were felt in China, Thailand, and Vietnam.
- A second, 6.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in Myanmar 12 minutes later, the Chinese Seismological Administration said. The second tremor was recorded at 21.60 degrees north latitude and 95.95 degrees east longitude. Its epicenter was at a depth of 30 km.
