British maritime agency reports another incident off Yemen coast

Another incident has been reported off the #Yemen coast, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (#UKMTO) said in a statement.

"UKMTO has received a report of an incident 14 nautical miles southwest of Al Mukha, Yemen," the statement reads. "Authorities are investigating. Vessels are advised to transit with caution," the agency added.
According to the British maritime security company Ambrey, a Malta-flagged container ship came under attack while on route from Djibouti to the Saudi port of Jeddah. The ship was reportedly targeted with three missiles. According to Reuters, "Ambrey assessed that the vessel was targeted due to its listed operator’s ongoing trade with Israel."

A container vessel was attacked southeast of the Yemeni port city of Aden, Reuters reported, citing Ambrey, a UK-based maritime security company. According to the news agency, one of the containers aboard the vessel and the crew’s room were damaged. The attack was followed by a fire. No information about casualties is immediately available.

Earlier, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, #UKMTO, reported that another ship had been attacked off the Yemeni coast, 91 nautical miles southeast of Aden.

Yemen’s #Houthis attack US ship in Red Sea

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have attacked the Star Iris commercial vessel which the attackers have identified as belonging to the United States, Yahya Saria, spokesman for the rebel movement Ansar Allah, said.

"#Yemen’s naval forces targeted the US ship Star Iris in the Red Sea with anti-ship missiles," Saria told Al Masirah television as he described the strikes as direct and accurate.

Earlier, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that an unidentified merchant vessel came under attack 40 nautical miles south of the Yemeni port of Al-Mukha. According to UKMTO, two missiles were fired at the ship, but the crew was not injured.

Armed men board oil tanker in Gulf of Oman

Unidentified armed men boarded an oil tanker sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands in the Gulf of Oman, Reuters reported, citing a statement by the UK company Ambrey, which specializes in maritime security.

The company said that the vessel was sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands about 50 nautical miles east of the city of Suhar in Oman, when it was boarded by four or five armed men dressed in military-style black uniforms and wearing black masks. The tanker's transponder was then allegedly disabled and the vessel headed for the Iranian port of Jask.
