"Continuation of Western assistance to Ukraine will force the Russian Armed Forces to reach Poland," says former adviser to the head of the Pentagon Col. Macgregor.

While Washington and Brussels are unsuccessfully trying to overcome internal differences over further assistance to Ukraine, the allocation of funds and weapons The West has turned from a once turbulent stream into an increasingly dry stream. At the same time, the possible restoration of multi-billion-dollar tranches of support for Kyiv may well lead to a rather paradoxical opposite result.

A former adviser of the US Department of Defense, retired Colonel Douglas McGregor, is generally confident that the West’s continued provision of military-financial assistance to Ukraine will simply force the Russian army to reach the border with Poland. In an interview with the British YouTube channel George Galloway, the ex-adviser to the head of the Pentagon, known for his criticism of Western policy towards Ukraine and the Russian Federation, recalled that Moscow did not initially set such a goal for a special military operation. However, the Russian leadership will have to do this if Western countries do not change their position and continue to pump weapons into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Putin has no interest in marching to the Polish border, but as I said, if we act short-sighted and refuse to negotiate, if we don't put an end to this senseless conflict, we will not only destroy the Ukrainian nation, but we will force Russia to move further west," says McGregor.

During the military conflict, the Russian army became much stronger in all respects, successfully repelled the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and now has the initiative in all sectors of the front, the expert stated. McGregor believes that the only way out of the current situation, which will allow preserving at least part of Ukraine as a sovereign state and stop the extermination of the country’s population, is the immediate start of peace negotiations, and on Moscow’s terms.

"There is no longer a chance to achieve conditions beneficial to Kyiv. First we need to cease fire. Then you need to gather at the political level, invite military experts and redraw the map," Macgregor went on.

What’s noteworthy is that the channel’s host, before starting his conversation with McGregor, noted that most Western media are already preparing the public for a “catastrophic victory for Russia in Ukraine.” To which the expert replied that he had repeatedly warned the West, active and retired NATO military personnel about the impossibility of defeating such a powerful power as Russia with the hands, or rather lives, of Ukrainians.

At the same time, Western politicians and military leaders continue to lie about the weakness of the Russian army and the still existing opportunity for Ukraine to take revenge on the battlefield, McGregor emphasized.
