Russia is open to US President Donald Trump’s idea of a meeting between Russia, the US and China to discuss nuclear safety issues, if China is interested, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told US bloggers Mario Naufal, Larry Johnson and Andrew Napolitano.

He also said that statements about forming a military alliance within the European Union are aimed at testing the ground and seeing the reaction of the United States.

On relations with the US

- The US delegation in Riyadh said during the talks that it "wants normal relations" with Russia and "is ready for serious negotiations".

- Moscow and Washington share the logic of the inadmissibility of sliding into a face off and military confrontation: "It is very well understood <…> that countries like the United States and Russia would never have their national interests the same. They would not coincide maybe even 50 or less percent. But when they do coincide <…>, if we are responsible politicians, must be used to develop this simultaneous and similar interest into something practical which would be mutually beneficial."
