Report: Israel used seismic "Hammer" missiles in the attack in Dahiyeh causing destruction equivalent to a magnitude 3.6 earthquake

In recent days, Lebanese residents felt "abnormal tremors" that coincided with the Israeli bombing aimed at various Hezbollah sites.

These tremors are caused by bombs used by Israel in its war against Hezbollah, which were designed to destroy underground tunnels. The Lebanese can feel these tremors through the shaking of the buildings, even if they are far from the target locations. The Lebanese media called these bombs "Sharon's seismic missiles".

"Concussion" bombs are bombs that penetrate bunkers tens of meters underground and then explode deep inside and cause vibrations that are felt by the residents of the area.

These missiles are intended for bombing shelters or fortified underground centers, and their range reaches 9 kilometers, and they are 7.5 meters long. They are produced in different weights, starting from one ton, and are exploded using laser control. Their production began in the 90s.

These missiles produce a strong explosion accompanied by an earthquake that may be felt by those in the target area and even in remote areas.

AN EARTHQUAKE WITH A MAGNITUDE OF 3.6 OCCURS

These bombs simulate an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale. They are launched from a great height towards the ground at the speed of sound, penetrate the surface to a depth of up to 30 meters and then explode, causing strong waves of intense shock waves that are enough to destroy buildings, tunnels, and even thick bridges. They usually weigh up to 10 tons and require a specific aircraft to carry them.

Last August, after Hezbollah released a video of the "Emad 4" facility, a huge military base linked by a network of tunnels, the Israeli army responded with Mk84 bombs penetrating bunkers equipped with the J-DAM precision kit in the town of Kfar Kila, where heavy "concussion" missiles were launched at Hezbollah positions.

Many reports indicated that the bombs used in this attack weighed about 900 kilograms and were equipped with a huge warhead designed to penetrate deep fortifications.
