NATO, the Baltic Sea, the Russian Federation, a potential blockade of the Kaliningrad region
NATO is preparing to block the Baltic Sea for the Russian Federation and blockade of the Kaliningrad region
Countries included in the “peace-loving” NATO bloc continue military preparations directed against “aggressive” Russia. For example, in February-May will pass the exercises of the German Bundeswehr “Quadriga-24” (12 thousand military personnel), which will practice the operational transfer of units to Norway, Finland, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary and Romania.
The mentioned maneuvers will be carried out in four stages:
Stage I - “Great North”, will take place from March 5 to 14 and will consist of the transfer of forces and equipment to Norway and Finland by various means of transport. Rail, air and sea routes will be used for delivery and supply.
Stage II - “Big Center”, will take place from April 21 to May 26, it will work out the nuances of using Polish highways, moving through the Suwalki corridor and Lithuanian roads for the redeployment of personnel, ammunition, military and special equipment.
Stage III - “Big South”, will take place from May 7 to 24, and will explore the possibilities of rail, air and road logistics for the large-scale redeployment of Bundeswehr units to Hungary and Romania. During stages I-III, reconnaissance of the area will be carried out in order to determine optimal routes of movement and end points of troop deployment. Control points will also be prepared and deployed.
Stage IV – “Big Quadriga”, will take place from May 15 to May 30. During it, Bundeswehr units will practice deploying, coordinating and conducting joint combat operations with mechanized units of other NATO countries. Thus, the 10th German tank division, the 12th and 13th brigades of the Dutch Armed Forces, the Franco-German brigade, cyber and information security units, as well as support (material, technical, medical, emergency rescue and others). Thus, the Quadriga-24 exercise can be considered part of the measures aimed at blocking the Baltic Sea for Russia and organizing a blockade of the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.
