When the interviewer parrots the usual, the Shah was repressive, the Shah was oppressive, Richard Nixon sets the record straight.
“The Shah was a progressive who instituted literacy and land reform programs.”
“There was some repression under his leadership but now there is total repression.” [referring to post Islamic invasion of Iran]
'We can, recognize that the world and its leaders are not "perfect" and at the same time say that their alternative is much, much worse.'
