Tom Homan: Trump will immediately bring back ICE worksite raids
Incoming #Border Czar Thomas #Homan says President-elect Donald #Trump will restore Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (#ICE) authority to protect American workers by conducting worksite enforcement raids and reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” border policy.

BREITBART - “We haven’t really worked out the plan for worksite enforcement,” Homan told the Washington Post about allowing ICE agents to conduct such immigration enforcement. “We know that employers are going to be upset.”

In February 2021, Biden stripped ICE of its ability to conduct worksite enforcement raids. At the time, an agency official told the Post that the administration had “abolished ICE without abolishing ICE.” In addition to protecting American workers from illegal employment, Homan said the incoming Trump administration will reinstate the Remain in #Mexico policy at the southern border, which Biden ended on his first day in office. Remain in Mexico was created and imposed by the first Trump administration, helping to drastically cut asylum fraud by ensuring migrants are not released into the U.S. interior while awaiting their immigration hearings.

Homan said the next administration will similarly construct soft-sided facilities that will hold migrant adults with the children they arrive at the border with. “We need to show the American people we can do this and not be inhumane about it,” Homan told the Post. “We can’t lose the faith of the American people.”

EU Council grants full Schengen membership to Bulgaria, Romania from January 1

The #EU Council agreed to fully integrate #Bulgaria and #Romania in the #Schengen Area from January 1, 18 years after they joined the bloc. "EU member states have decided to remove checks on persons at the internal land borders with and between Bulgaria and Romania from 1 January 2025," the council said in a statement. In March, Bulgaria and Romania joined the Schengen area partially, as passport control was lifted at air and sea borders. The final approval for the admission of Bulgaria and Romania to Schengen must be given by EU leaders at an EU summit taking place from December 19-20 in Brussels, but this is a mere formality, as interior and justice ministers endorsed this decision in the EU Council at the direction of country leaders.

Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU in 2007, but their admission to Schengen was postponed pending resolution of some issues in such areas as the fight against corruption. However, the process dragged on and was paused after the start of the EU immigration crisis in 2015.

The Schengen Area was created in 1985 by #Belgium, #France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Germany. Its borders do not coincide with the borders of the European Union, although each group now includes 27 countries. Non-EU members Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are Schengen members. But EU members Ireland and Cyprus do not have Schengen membership, while Bulgaria and Romania will only fully join in January.

Kyrgyzstan says outside forces trying to recruit citizens for terrorist attacks in Russia

Recruiters through social networks are trying to recruit #Kyrgyz citizens, including minors, to carry out #terrorist attacks in Russia, #Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration said.

"The representative office of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and #Migration in #Russia warns that [external forces are trying] to recruit citizens, including minors, through social networks and popular messengers, such as Telegram, to participate in terrorist attacks in Russia," the statement posted on the ministry’s website said. According to the representative office, recruiters operate mainly through dating sites, looking for potential victims, "analyzing correspondence in various religious, cultural, national and other social groups," betting on "vulnerable people, depressed or experiencing any difficulties."

The representative office urged Kyrgyz citizens residing or temporarily staying in Russia not to give in to various provocations, not to seek employment through social networks, not to participate in various actions, as well as to control children. "At the same time, the office reminds that participation in a terrorist act is punishable by up to life imprisonment under Russian criminal law," the statement said.

25 Republican governors released the following joint statement in support of Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Texas’ constitutional right to self-defense.
