Kremlin says France’s line of forming coalition to send troops to Ukraine very dangerous
#Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has called #France’s line of forming a coalition of countries ready to send troops to #Ukraine very dangerous.
"In general, the expansion of the discussion and the persistent activity of Paris in attempts to build a coalition of countries that declare a hypothetical readiness to send a certain contingent, of course, is nothing but a direct line to escalate tensions. This is a dangerous line, very dangerous," the spokesman told reporters. Peskov pointed out that this line "could potentially have very undesirable consequences." "We are watching this very carefully," he emphasized.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister #Radoslaw Sikorski said during a conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Poland's #NATO membership that NATO military personnel are already in Ukraine. At the same time, Sikorski did not clarify which countries' soldiers he was referring to.Kremlin says France’s line of forming coalition to send troops to Ukraine very dangerous #Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has called #France’s line of forming a coalition of countries ready to send troops to #Ukraine very dangerous. Macron delays visit to Ukraine amid tensions with allies over policy on Russia
French President Emmanuel #Macron is pushing back a long-planned visit to #Ukraine amid disagreements with allies over policy toward Russia, Politico reported, citing a French diplomat.
The delay comes as Macron’s comments on Russia have become increasingly hawkish, the report said. The French president wants to "take the necessary time" to talk with allies, so that he can visit Ukraine "with tangible results," according to Politico.
"A bit of time is needed to [conclude] the different #coalitions and their operational commitments with our partners," the diplomat said.
The La Tribune newspaper earlier cited a source in the French presidential administration as saying that the Elysee Palace could again postpone Macron's visit to Ukraine, which had already been moved from February to mid-March. According to the newspaper, this is related to the explosions that went off near the port of #Odessa as the Greek prime minister was visiting the city.Macron delays visit to Ukraine amid tensions with allies over policy on Russia French President Emmanuel #Macron is pushing back a long-planned visit to #Ukraine amid disagreements with allies over policy toward Russia, Politico reported, citing a French diplomat.
